Your chance to meet the famous Blythburgh Free Range pigs whot have become synonymous with the sandy soils of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Father and son, Jimmy and Alastair Butler will take us around their farm and explain what makes their pork so special: these are truly free range pigs and piglets stay with their mothers for nearly four weeks, much longer than any intensive farming. We will gain insights into how this better animal welfare compares to standard pork farming and results in a better flavour on your plate.
Back at we'll be joined by a traditional local butcher who will demonstrate how to butcher a big, explain the basic cuts and talk about how to use them and enjoy a three-course lunch with a pork theme.
To wrap up the day we will have a hands-on session creating our own sausage recipes or preparing your own cured ham.
